Love it, my in laws are obsessed with this too. Even a friend of the family who is a junior doctor told me it causes cancer therefore it must be 100% true...
I would love to see the TV ad:
"Mum, why are your hands so soft?"
"That's because all the hairs fallen out after chemotherapy, darling"
I don't know. I had a Scottish friend who never washed off the soap after she washed her dishes. It never gave us cancer- at least, until this minute- but it usually gave us a case of the sh.ts whenever we ate at her home.
